Junior/Intermediate School Holiday Rush
Posted on: 25 April
It’s been a busy few weeks for our Juniors.
Starting with Michelle Yang going to the Women’s World Sand Greens at the Walcha Golf Club. It was definitely an experience and I’m still not sure if she knew what she was going to but she had great fun and a successful 2 rounds finishing +14, Tied 43rd.
Following that we had 2 of our Juniors Darcy Mackay and Andrew Kneeves attend the Australian Junior Amateur across in Perth. Both finished Tied 33rd.
Camden Lakeside Golf Club held the NexGen/Junior 6’s event. Here we had Kade Webber, Darcy Mackay, Michelle Yang and Annoushka Maikap attend.
Kade had a fabulous start with a 69 and 67 on the 1st day and led the Male Event. Unfortunately on the 2nd day his opponent scored an unbelievable 63 with 8 birdies and an eagle beating him overall by 5 shots. Kade finished the competition in 2nd place with -7.
Darcy finished Tied 13th place with a +4 overall.
Michelle started well with a 72 but her second round let her down. Overall she finished Tied 10th with +18. Annoushka finished Tied 13th with +35.
Next we had Marie-Claire Domingo enter into The Australian Golf Club Medal. She has walked the course many times but never actually played there so to score 89,85 26th place/78,74 nett 13th place is a great achievement.
Finally we had 5 of our juniors head down to The Links Shell Cove Golf Club for the JNJG Illawarra Junior Masters, Darcy, Andrew, Marie-Claire, Savannah and Annoushka.
Savannah finished a great 4th place overall and 2nd place in her age group 14+15 years.
Annoushka finished 6th place overall and 2nd place in her age group 16+ years.
Darcy finished 5th place overall and 3rd place in his age group 16+ years.
Great work by all our juniors and including our intermediate player Kade.
I love keeping an eye on all your progress and achievements. We have some great representatives for our club.
